Connecting to the Provisioning Farm

When the console is opened for the first time, it prompts for the Provisioning server name and port. The administrator can choose to connect using the current Windows credentials.

Once the connection is successful, the farm appears in the console tree. At that point, the administrator can expand the farm and view the configured site, Provisioning servers, vDisk pools, stores, device collections, views, and target devices.

Understanding the Console Layout

The Citrix Provisioning Console is organized in a tree structure. The highest level is the farm. Under the farm, the administrator can view and manage sites and the objects associated with those sites.

The farm is the top-level container for the Citrix Provisioning environment. It represents the overall Provisioning infrastructure and includes the SQL database connection, license server reference, stores, sites, Provisioning servers, and target device collections.

A site is a logical grouping inside the farm. Sites are commonly used to organize Provisioning servers, device collections, stores, and vDisks. In a larger environment, sites may represent locations, datacenters, classrooms, business units, or other logical boundaries.

Provisioning Servers

Inside the site, the console displays the Provisioning server. The server properties can be reviewed to validate configuration details such as network settings, server identity, and store associations.

Stores and vDisks
